Peanut Hattaway, DMD
It is a great privilege to be trusted by patients to take care of them and their families, and one that I don’t take lightly. Dentistry is more than just treating disease and restoring teeth; it is about creating lasting relationships to foster friendships based on mutual respect and compassion. My patients mean the world to me, and treating them like family comes naturally!
I am very excited to join Laurelhurst Family Dentistry, and look forward to helping patients of all ages gain the level of oral health they desire.
Education and Continuing Education
- Undergraduate Degree – Cornell University
- Doctorate of Dental Medicine – University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, 2011
- General Practice Residency – Community Medical Centers & VA Central California, Fresno, CA
- Christian Dental Fellowship
Since graduating from dental school, I have completed several continuing education courses and advanced education programs. As a member of the American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, and the Seattle-King County Dental Society, I stay up to date on the latest in dental treatments and technologies. I also regularly attend the Pacific Northwest Dental Conference and am on the Membership Committee and the New Dentist Programming Committee for SKCDS.
In the Community
In addition to my work in the office, I teach at UW School of Dentistry as an affiliate faculty for the fourth-year students. On a global level, I volunteer with Medical Teams International on their dental vans and take short-term mission trips to Guatemala to provide dental care for the indigenous people. I feel it is important to provide care to those who may not otherwise have access to quality dentistry.
Outside the Office
I was born in Taiwan and moved to New Jersey at the age of 12. My husband and I have been married for six years and have a two-year-old son. When I’m not in the office, I enjoy going to the playground or out hiking and exploring nature with my son. It is my goal to the best wife, the best mother, and of course, the best dentist I can be!
